Today marks Sofia's 34th birthday.
As this day approaches each year, I always wonder how we would be celebrating. Would we be sitting at a bar having birthday drinks?

Perhaps just have a quiet dinner out with friends and family?

Maybe we'd be having a big backyard party.

This year I celebrated her birthday and memory a little early. Through the passion and work of Kevin John Kocher, I travelled to Germany and presented four awards to individuals and teams who have preformed with a determined sense of duty and responsibility by assisting in saving the life of a lost or missing person either by directly trailing with their K9 or by their teaching of The Kocher Method.

These individuals are civilian Search and Rescue, Law enforcement, or Fire Rescue personnel. I met a group of dedicated, passionate, and determined handlers and instructors who have come together from all over the world with one goal and that is to learn and to train with their K9's so that they may one day bring a missing loved one back to their family safely. So many of these people, who I am now proud to call my friends, said to me that they were honored to meet me but it was I who had the honor to meet everyone of you and your K9's.

I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate Sofia's life.

Thank you for all you do and never lose the passion you have.
