**SUCCESSFUL CASE***

July 2023 - South Africa

A frightening beginning with a wonderful ending
Today a frantic resident on Rhodes drive alerted us to their domestic worker’s 4 year old boy that had managed to exit the property and was missing. We immediately obtained information from them, a photo of what he looked like and clothing worn today. CW SRT members and K9 KC responded. KC (our Belgian Malinois) took a scent from an article of his clothing, and he was off. KC took the SRT members along Rhodes Drive towards the Nek, then to the bottom of the ziplines area where he indicated end of scent. SRT members then questioned people in that vicinity, and a woman told them that she had seen a person in a red car pick him up at the very spot that KC stopped. CVIC controllers immediately called SAPS Houtbay to see if he had been dropped off there – and YES – he had been. SAPS had no idea who he was or where he was from as the little 4 year old had difficulty communicating. Grateful parents rushed through and collected him – safe and sound.
All of us at Constantia Watch are so relieved that he was safe and unharmed, and furthermore blessed to have such wonderful K9 tracking dogs and amazing handlers. Thanks guys and K9s.
