As a member of Long Island Search and Rescue (LISAR) I have had the opportunity to instruct different SAR organizations and members on various aspects of land navigation up to and including Sartech Certifications.
Through the course of my career as a SARTECH II I have contributed to two successful live finds. The first took place on June 9, 2013 in northern New Jersey. The second took place July 20, 2013 and occurred in Northern New Jersey. Through the course of my career as a K-9 handler I have been involved with five separate searches throughout New Jersey, upstate New York and Long Island.
In my opinion INBTI and TKM is the most successful method of training. It has helped my team and I continually improve due to the focus on positive reinforcement as well as the simplicity of the overall training.
